Solution Summary
Learning Pods is a roadmap and a service proposition to foster a community of practice around systems thinking within UNDP’s City Experiment Fund initiative. It offers tools and interventions to create a sustainable learning infrastructure, empowering country offices to embrace non-traditional innovation and develop capabilities to address complex challenges.
Need for Intervention
UNDP recognizes the need for deeper systems thinking to effectively tackle global challenges. However, the current organizational structures limit the adoption of new approaches. The intervention aimed to build internal capacity for continuous learning, ensuring that staff could plan for the future while navigating shifting program priorities and complex systems.
Project Process & Collaboration
The project involved collaboration between multiple stakeholders, including country offices, systems thinking experts, and UNDP innovation teams. It combined qualitative research, workshops, and iterative prototyping to develop learning materials and tools.
